Warranty Return Policy and Guidelines

It is mandatory that the following process procedures be followed for the product to be considered for warranty coverage. Please note that by submitting this form and following procedures along with returning the turbo for warranty is not intended to suggest/imply that 5BGParts takes responsibility for any costs associated with the potential warranty nor does it mean that the warranty is accepted. All warranty processes will be followed accordingly, and no warranty service will be provided unless or until we validate the claim.

PROCESS:

  • Customers must complete the claim form and provide all required information before submitting to receive an RGA number from 5BGParts
  • Attach as many pictures and provide as much information as possible to support your claim, including damage, part numbers, etc. You may upload pictures and documents by using the upload file option.
  • Customer must not ship the unit without receiving an RGA number from us.
  • Please allow approximately 72 working hours for 5BGParts to process and respond to RGA requests (Issuance of RGA is not intended to imply or suggest acceptance of warranty claim)
  • Any product that arrives without an RGA number will be rejected and sent back at the customer's expense.
  • The RGA number must be written on the outside of the box and on a document inside the box.

Once an RGA has been provided and properly notated as outlined above, ship the turbocharger

The warranty return of the part must be returned to 5BGParts within 15 days of failure and submission of the claim to be considered for warranty.

All parts that were included with the unit when shipped must be returned with the unit for warranty consideration. (Actuator, actuator line, speed sensor or temp sensor if applicable). Parts not received may result in a core credit deduction, inconclusive evaluation, or a denied claim.

Warranty return submission can only be made by the original purchaser of the part from 5BGParts and is not transferable. 5BGParts May require additional information as proof of purchase to validate submission.

5BGParts may request test data from any repair facility that diagnosed the failed unit, as well as data from the original installer and failure information for the product that the unit replaced.

We are not responsible for any additional parts sent with unit such as: (Oil fittings, oil lines, coolant fittings, coolant lines, mounting hardware including adapters, mounting sleeves, mounting elbows etc.). Please remove prior to sending unit in. If not removed these parts will be discarded or scrapped and we would not be able to return, replace or be held responsible for any cost incurred to replace.

To receive full credit for returned items that have been deemed as an accepted warranty by manufacturing defect you must follow these procedures.

THE CUSTOMER HAS 30 DAYS FROM BEING NOTIFIED OF DENIED WARRANTY ANALYSIS OUTCOME BEFORE THE UNIT IS SENT BACK AT THE CUSTOMER’S EXPENSE, UNIT WILL BE IN A DISASSEMBLED STATE.

IF WARRANTY IS DENIED AND IS REQUESTED TO BE RETURNED TO THE CUSTOMER, UNIT WILL BE IN A DISASSEMBLED STATE.

Return warranty freight is at the customer's expense until a failure determination is made. 5BGParts shall reimburse freight costs for any warrantable BBB-branded product found to have a manufacturing defect. Markup on freight will not be reimbursed. The customer agrees to ship the product to BBB Industries in the most economical way possible. 5BGParts will not reimburse any priority freight expenses unless prior authorization was given before returning the product. 5BGParts reserves the right to request receipts for freight expenses.

Products supplied by us that are branded by other companies are warranted pursuant to the terms and conditions provided by the brand under which they are sold. These products will be submitted to the original product manufacturer for analysis, which could take 4-8 weeks for results. For additional information on the manufacturer’s warranty for a specific part, please contact 5BGParts at 844-454-8000.

IMPORTANT WARRANTY/INSTALLATION NOTICE:

Please ensure that the following steps were completed prior to installation:

  • The original cause of turbo failure was diagnosed and fixed
  • Turbo Oil Supply Line: Should be replaced with a new line prior to installing the replacement turbocharger or cartridge. Note: Squirting carb cleaner or solvent into the line and blowing it out is not sufficient to remove carbon or other foreign material. Failure to observe this precaution can result in premature turbo failure and warranty denial!
  • Intake and Exhaust Ducting (Path from Intake Filter-DPF/Manifolds): Ensure all ducting is free of any foreign objects or material. Damage to impeller/turbine blades due to negligence in this respect is not warrantable. Damage to the inner compressor blades/fins of the turbo can ONLY be caused by debris.
  • Change Engine Oil and Filter: Change the engine oil and filter whenever removing and reinstalling the turbocharger or cartridge, even if reinstalling the old unit. Ensure you inspect the drain and feed lines and bypass valve.
  • Pre-Lubricate Turbocharger: Prior to starting the engine, disable the ignition system and crank the engine for 60 seconds or until oil pressure is indicated. Then start the engine and allow it to idle for a minimum of one minute before driving the vehicle. Drive the vehicle at low power for the first 50 miles.
  • Test Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) System: Ensure it is not clogged and is open and working correctly.

  • Please note that diagnoses of failure by our technical support team do not guarantee acceptance of the claim due to the difficulty of identifying all root cause of failures by digital diagnoses. Some failures can only be diagnosed by physical disassembly inspection, and testing.

Core and New Returns:

Both core returns and Items that are returned unopened for a refund (new returns) are to be routed through a different claim process.

Limited Warranty

The limited warranty set forth below gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights, which vary from state to state. Our responsibility for defective products and/or services is limited to the remedies set forth below.

Product Warranty

Coverage:

5BGParts Branded Products - We warrant that 5BGParts Branded products purchased will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of one (1) year for remanufactured and two (2) years for new and this commences from the date of first installation regardless of engine hours or vehicle miles.

Product Other 5BGParts Branded Products - Products supplied by us that are branded by other companies are warranted pursuant to the terms and conditions that are provided through the brand under which they are sold.

Limited Warranty Exclusions:

This limited warranty shall not apply to:

1. Product damaged in transit. Pictures of packaging may be required for any attempt to start a warranty claim for broken parts found at installation.

2. Malfunctions in any part caused by any of the following:

  • Storage Damage: Turbos can suffer from corrosion, contamination, or physical damage if not stored properly.
  • Misuse (such as engine or vehicle overload): Overloading the engine can lead to excessive strain on the turbo, causing premature failure.
  • Improper Adjustment/Installation: Incorrect installation or adjustments can affect turbo performance and lead to damage.
  • Modification of the Engine: Engine modifications can alter operating conditions, potentially exceeding the turbo's design limits.
  • Addition or Modification of a Turbo: Adding or modifying a turbo without proper support can result in mismatched components and system failure.
  • Alteration: Any unauthorized changes to the turbo can compromise its functionality.
  • Misapplication (including, but not limited to, changing horsepower from the original manufacturer’s specification without 5BGParts endorsement): Using the turbo outside its intended specifications can lead to performance issues and damage.
  • Tampering (such as serial number altered, defaced, or component being removed): Tampering can void warranties and affect the ability to trace and manage issues.
  • Disconnection: Disconnecting turbo components can cause malfunctions and damage.
  • Improper or Inadequate Maintenance (quality of filters, oil, etc.): Poor maintenance practices can lead to contamination and insufficient lubrication, damaging the turbo.
  • Foreign Body Damage: Damage caused by debris or other foreign objects entering the turbo system.
  • Cavitation Erosion (due to poor maintenance or poor-quality coolants): Erosion can occur in turbo cooling systems if not properly maintained.
  • Oil Cooler Not Cleaned and Flushed (at the time of engine replacement): Residual contaminants can damage the new turbo if the oil cooler isn’t properly cleaned.
  • Progressive Damage: Ongoing issues, if not addressed, can progressively damage the turbo.

3. Damage due to use of incorrect fuel for engine type.

4. Damage Resulting from:

  • Abuse, Negligence, Accident, Acts of Nature such as fire, freezing, tornado, lightning, flood, hurricane, earthquake, windstorm or hail. Any other acts beyond the control of 5BGParts.

The Limited Warranty will be considered void if any part of the unit, including the actuator, is dismantled or shows signs of tampering, such as broken seals or removed screws

5BGParts recommends changing all filtration units before product installation. Failure to install new filters could void warranty protection.

This limited warranty is not valid if customer owes 5BGParts any balance on a corresponding invoice. The warranty is only in effect as long as the original purchaser retains ownership of the vehicle/engine in which that product was installed. BBB Industries Limited Warranty is subject to change at its discretion and without public notice.

Warranties on replacement units are valid only for the duration of the unused portion of the original warranty.

Claim Payment Restrictions

Non-5BGParts branded products purchased to replace a warranty and/or core charges associated with that product will only qualify for reimbursement up to the 5BGParts Product purchase cost and reimbursement will only be made if product is found warrantable under these terms after analysis has been performed.

5BGParts does not reimburse nor will be held liable for labor, diagnosis, consequential damage, towing or downtime as the result of a defect in material or workmanship.

Returns and Refunds

We require a Return Goods Authorization (RGA) on all returned products. If you desire to return an item for warranty you must follow the warranty claim process. If you are unsure or need additional assistance please call our Inside Sales Department at 844-454-8000. Upon calling, please have your order number or Purchase order number and the part number ready so we can solve your problem quickly.

Returns will not be accepted without an RGA number. Return shipping charges are the responsibility of the customer, and freight collect returns will not be accepted.

Returns that have been made and noted as “NEW” returned items must not have been installed, be in sellable condition and in the original packaging. Otherwise, they will be noted as a warranty return claim and handled in that manner. Shipping and handling charges are not refundable. You bear the risk of loss during any return shipment.

Credit for claims deemed warrantable under these terms after analysis have been performed and results/analysis has been shared with you are processed within approximately ten (10) business days of our receipt of your request of resolution and we must have all required information needed to validate the amount of credit prior to that request. Your refund will be credited back in the form of the same payment method used to make the original purchase. If purchase was made by credit card we must reimburse the original card that was used to make the purchase. was made by We can only reimburse the original unless a prior credit has been made to the original order processed by credit card. If these circumstances were to occur then 5BGParts accounting department will do their due diligence to work with you to reimburse in a timely and acceptable manner.

Credit card fees on the original order are not reimbursable.

Shipments, Delivery, Title and Risk of Loss

You will pay all shipping and handling charges specified during the ordering and warranty process. Title and risk of loss pass to you upon our transfer of the products to the shipping carrier. Shipping and delivery dates are estimates only.

Force Majeure

We will not be liable or responsible to you, nor be deemed to have defaulted or breached these Terms, for any failure or delay in our performance under these Terms when and to the extent such failure or delay is caused by or results from acts or circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including, without limitation, acts of nature, flood, fire, earthquake, explosion, governmental actions, war, invasion or hostilities (whether war is declared or not), terrorist threats or acts, riot or other civil unrest, national emergency, revolution, insurrection, epidemic, lockouts, strikes or other labor disputes (whether or not relating to our workforce), or restraints or delays affecting carriers or inability or delay in obtaining supplies of adequate or suitable materials, materials or telecommunication breakdown or power outage.

Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless 5BGParts and its affiliates, subsidiaries, owners, directors, officers, employees, agents successors and assigns from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or relating to your violation of these Terms or use of our product.

No Third Party Beneficiaries

These Terms do not and are not intended to confer any rights or remedies upon any person other than you.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is invalid, illegal, void or unenforceable, then that provision will be deemed severed from these Terms and will not affect the validity or enforceability of the remaining provisions of these Terms.
